The Leading Edge LE-v150 Extreme is a rugged, silent and highly reliable vertical axis wind turbine designed to provide power outputs of up to 200 watts for a host of different battery charging applications (not for domestic use). These ultra-tough wind turbines are found in some of the harshest locations on earth including in Antarctica and the Arctic circle.

For use in applications where a traditional horizontal axis turbine may be inappropriate and simply couldn’t survive prolonged periods of storm force winds, the LE-v150 Extreme draws on our heritage of designing rugged vertical axis wind turbine chargers for powering industrial and research equipment in harsh environments.
Where wind gusts to 35m/s (80mph) or temperatures drop down to -40°C, the LE-v150 Extreme turbine is the wind turbine of choice. It features enhancements that reduce the stress and fatigue on the blades during prolonged periods of storm force winds.

Features include stainless steel blades, recycled polycarbonate cowlings, blade load spreader plates, an upper baffle plate to prevent damage to the upper cowling, and the black body helps reduce the build-up of rime ice.
The LE-v150 Extreme is available as a 12V, 24V and 48V DC wind turbine. Included are 7 x 70mm U-bolts (Stainless Steel) for side mounting to 50mm or 60mm OD pole.
